Peninsula’s long-standing relationship with the Jubilee Sailing Trust (JST) continued last week with a visit to SV Tenacious. The tall ship called at Gibraltar for a few days which gave a number of our employees the opportunity to further understand what the charity does and why.
The JST is a charity that changes lives through adventure and exploration offering voyages to people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities, giving everyone the opportunity to explore their potential through inclusive adventures at sea.
People are at the heart of everything Peninsula and the JST do. The tall ship Tenacious was built in 2000 and it is the only sea-going tall ship in the world designed, built, and sailed by a mixed-ability crew. The crew immerse themselves in an unforgettable sailing experience, whether they are a novice or an experienced mariner.
The visit was led by Captain Catterson and hosted by the wonderful crew. They imparted stories of their lives onboard the vessel, showed us around the ship, taught us about sailing and gave us life lessons in passion and compassion.
It was a unique opportunity and an eye-opening experience for our people, and we encourage everyone to take the time to appreciate this amazing charity.
The JST relies on the support of others through fundraising and donations, visit their website for more information https://jst.org.uk/
